Arn was plucked from the Northern Sea by a passing ship which gave him passage to the shores of the Ironlands. He disembarks on the Ragged Coast near the town of Wolfstone.

After disembarking, Arn made his way towards Wolfstone as best he could. Crossing a flooded river ford, he slipped and lost some supplies to the river. On the other side of the river, he met Darri who invited him to their camp where he and three others were camping. Darri tells Arn of the troubles at Swordbreak, and Arn discovers that his sister Jorunn was taken captive by the bandit overseer Solana. They all agree to make a move on Solana that very night!
