Arn wishes to prove his bond to Jorunn, who requests he hunt down a mystic named Oddgeir and convince him to stop seeking her. His location is known, a small waterfall two days travel away.

Arn travels to the last known location of Oddgeir, a campsite by a small river.

Arn finds an abandoned campsite with signs of struggle and blood, which he tracks back to a cave.

Saving Oddgeir

Oddgeir was attacked by a bear and dragged back to its cave lair. He is quite injured and Arn attempted to stabilize him, but the bear returned as he did so.

The Bear returns, trapping Arm and Oddgeir in the cave. Arn sinks several arrows into the beast, causing it to run out towards the forest, heavily wounded … but not before he can sink a killing arrow into it.

Arn finds healing herbs in the forest and attempts to heal Oddgeir … which he does successful, saving his life.

Once back on his feet, Arn gives Oddgeir the message that Jorunn is done with him. Oddgeir accepts this.

Having warned off Oddgeir, Jorunn tells Arn of the family’s ancestral weapon which he must retrieve to fight the Scourge of the Mountain. Unfortunately, it has been stolen by the forester Irsia.
