A dragon, also known as the Scourge of the Mountains, that lairs in the mountains of the Ironlands. In its own language, Thaugolos means (roughly) “born of the air” or “born of the wing” owing to its unusual ability among the wyrms of the Ironlands to fly. The Lair of Thaugolos is found in the Veiled Mountains atop a large lone peak crowned with ancient fortifications.
Long ago, an Ironlander from Wolfstone named Vestlidi fought him with a mystic spear forged from iron that fell from the sky, the Wolf’s Tooth Ulvetann. It was the only time a weapon made by man or Elf had pierced his scales, causing him something that was utterly unfamiliar to him up to that point: pain. After being driven off by Vestilidi, he swore revenge and set his mind to destroying Vestlidi, his descedents, and his people.
While Arn Kalapunki, Vestlidi’s grandson, was in the Southern lands, Thaugolos wiped out the village of Wolfstone. Upon learning of this upon his return, Arn Kalapunki‘s swore vengeance in return.
